Baltic Creative Street
We were part of the ‘Creative Campus’ community (provided by Baltic Creative CIC) for four years (until we outgrew our shed!). During our time there, we were appointed to design interventions to animate the interior street which links a community of creative and digital businesses
The project was focused on improving and promoting informal and spontaneous meetings and connections, inspired by our own prior colonisation of the space outside our unit, where we regularly invited neighbours to lunch with us. The design specification of furniture and design interventions for this project was developed in detail through conversations with fellow tenants who informed a detail brief for creating a new landscape for informal working, meeting and socialising. The scope extended to the design and manufacture of a unique personalised tenant directory in the public area with polaroid photos giving faces to the people behind each campus business
