Wigwam is a child-friendly coffee shop, where young children can learn and play whilst parents enjoy top quality coffee, cake and fresh food. This venue in south Liverpool is clearly innovative and unique and as a parent it strikes you as very surprising that such venues aren’t already in abundance. Established by Roisin and Sue, 2 dynamic young women with 7 children between them, the facilities offer bookable space for parties, classes and events and a treatment room to re-energise tired parents.
We worked closely to mentor and guide Sue and Roisin, as was their first build project, having sought out a great location for their enterprise. After years of neglect and deterioration a lot of TLC was needed for the building, originally a dairy at the turn of the last century. With the uncovering and refurbishment of the original Liverpool Cooperative Services decorative wall tiles, the former use is expressed clearly in the new cafe and venue.
